Thaddeus Joshua

I got the most amazing gift for Mother's Day this year. Instead of the usual breakfast in bed and homemade cards from the boys, I got to meet our new little Thaddeus (2 weeks early). He was born on Sunday, May 10th at 2:21 pm. He weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long.

As most of you remember from the first two boys, my labor was very fast. I was in labor with Brand for 5 1/2 hours and Max for 2 1/2 hours. This time around I was very concerned about getting to the hospital in time for an epidural and a doctor to catch the baby. Well, turns out I had nothing to worry about. Thad decided to be totally different than his brothers and put me through 21 hours of labor (I did have an epidural for most of it) ending in a C-section. My water broke on its own during the first hour, but my body never advanced to active labor (even with the help of Pitocin). The C-section was a lot rougher that I thought it would be. Lets just say that I felt way more than I wanted to feel. Thad had a little difficulty breathing right after he was born, so he spent his first 7 hours of life in the NICU. Since then he has done great. He is such a good baby. He is a good mix and Brand and Max. Brand's eyes, hair and coloring, Max's head shape and features.

Proud big brothers!

I love how tiny babies look in their carseat on the way home from the hospital.

I love how much help I am getting - I hope it lasts :)

Love the photos! He looks so much bigger than the first day I saw him, it is crazy how much they grow. I must admit that when we were caring for him at the nurse's station I couldn't help but hold him the whole time. Glad you two made it home safe and sound.

Why are you so far away?? I need to hold that cute baby! And, I need to bring you dinner and watch your big kids! I am sorry you had to have a c-section. I have been thinking about you all the time for the last week. I totally miss you guys and wish I could be there to welcome little Thad to the world. I will call you soon--the time difference is a pain!

Congratulations! I just had a feeling I should check your blog today (even though you weren't due yet) and what a surprise I got! What a cute guy. Enjoy the activity level of a house with 3 boys. I am living proof that a woman can survive in a houseful of boys. You can be the queen!
Have fun with the joys of a newborn in the house. Love you

I think he is sooooo adorable! I wish you were here so that I could hold him! I've never had a baby the "regular" way so I have nothing to compare it to, but I kind of like c-sections--did they not give you enough pain meds? Hope you're recovering quickly!

You make such darling babies. Congratulations! I prefer c-sections, but not after labor!

CONGRATULATIONS! What a wonderful Mother's Day and what an adorable baby boy. I can't believe how grown up Brand and Max are and what great helpers. I hope your recovery will be quick, c-sections aren't any fun. Take care of your cute family! XOXO Aunt Karen
